BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF STUDIES ON THE CONCEPT OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

Development approaches have undergone changes in recent years. The concept of rural development has also been influenced by this change. It is now recognized that rural development is not just spatial improvement but also a process of improving the living standards of the people in that region. This change in the understanding of development reflects the new concept of rural development. With this new perspective, norms such as bottom-up approaches, participation, and empowerment form the essence of rural development policies.
In this context, this research aims to visually represent the concept of ‘rural development’ using bibliometric analysis methods. To achieve this goal, a singular screening model was employed within the screening models, and the current status of studies on ‘rural development’ published in the international literature was described in detail. This study provides a general overview of studies on ‘rural development’ indexed in the WoS (Web of Science) database. The key aspects covered in the study include the distribution of studies by years and disciplines, types of studies, and publication languages. Only the WoS database was used to obtain data in the study, and the retrieval of studies related to rural development was performed using only the keyword “Rural Development”.

KIRSAL KALKINMA KAVRAMI İLE İLGİLİ ÇALIŞMALARIN BİBLİYOMETRİK ANALİZİ

Abstract

Kalkınma yaklaşımları geçtiğimiz yıllar içerisinde değişim geçirmiştir. Kırsal kalkınma anlayışı da bu değişimden etkilenmiştir. Kırsal kalkınmanın sadece mekânsal olarak iyileşme olmadığı o bölgede yaşan insanların hayat standartlarının da iyileşmesi süreci olduğu kabul edilmeye başlanmıştır. Kalkınma anlayışındaki bu değişim yeni kırsal kalkınma düşüncesini yansıtmaktadır. Bu yeni düşünce ile aşağıdan yukarı, katılım ve güçlendirme gibi normlar kırsal kalkınma politikalarının özünü oluşturmaktadır.
Bu doğrultuda çalışmada bibliyometrik analiz yöntemi kullanılarak kırsal kalkınma kavramının görsel olarak görüntülenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda tarama modelleri içerisinde tekil tarama modelinden faydalanılarak kırsal kalkınma konusu ile ilgili uluslararası literatürde yayımlanmış çalışmaların mevcut durumu betimlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Ulusal ve uluslararası literatürde yalnızca kırsal kalkınma anahtar kelimesi ile bibliyometrik çalışmanın yapılmamış olması ise dikkat çekmektedir. Çalışmada WoS veri tabanında indekslenen “kırsal kalkınma” konulu çalışmaların genel görünümü tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında ele alınan temel hususlar; çalışmaların yıllara göre ve alanlara göre dağılımı, türleri ve yayım dilleridir. Çalışmada veri elde etmek için yalnızca WoS veritabanından yararlanılmış ve kırsal kalkınma ile ilgili çalışmaların elde edilmesinde sadece “Rural Development” (kırsal kalkınma) anahtar kelimesi ile tarama yapılmıştır.
