Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye için Gedik (1992) tarafından 1965-1980 ve Yamak ve Küçükkale (2001) tarafından 1985-1990 dönemi nüfus sayımı verileri kullanılarak sınanan Lowry hipotezini, Türkiye’deki 1970-1975, 1975-1980, 1980-1985, 1985-1990 ve 1990-2000 dönemi nüfus sayımı kapsamında yeniden sınamaktır. Bu amaçla, alınan ve verilen göz ile net göç arasındaki ilişkiler, farklı nüfus sayım dönemlerine ait iç göç verilerinden yola çıkılarak sınanan Lowry hipotezini, nüfus büyüklüğü, net göç oranı ve kişi başına düşen Gayri Safi Yurtiçi Hasıla (KBDGSYH) kriterleri dikkate alınarak incelenmiştir. Çalışmada, kentsel gelişim düzeylerine ve sosyo-ekonomik göstergelerine dikkat edilmeksizin, tüm iller arası nüfus hareketlerinin analiz edildiği bir de genel model tahmin edilmiştir. Ayrıca kentsel gelişim ölçütü olarak, kentsel nüfus, net göç oranı, büyüme oranı ve KBDGSYH değişkenleri dikkate alınarak kısıtlı modeller tahmin edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, tahmin edilen modeller çerçevesinde iç göç akımları ile kentsel gelişme arasındaki ilişki karşılaştırmalı olarak ortaya konuşmuştur.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to re-examine Lowry hypothesis that were examined for Turkey in period of 1965–1980 by Gedik (1992) and period of 1985–1990 by Yamak and Küçükkale (2001) by using The Census of Population 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990 and 2000 in Turkey. For this reason, the relationships between in-migration and out-migration and net migration have investigated with population size, net migration rate and per capita income factors. Analysis that involve in all provinces called general model is not considered in social, economic and urban development factors. In addition, estimated restriction models that are considered urban development are involved population, net migration rate and per capita income factors. In conclusion we have exposed comparatively relationship between internal migration flows and urban development frame of estimated models.
