Abstract
Çalışmanın amacı, kurumsal yönetim endeksine girişin şirket getirilerine etkisini incelemektir. BIST Kurumsal Yönetim Endeksi (XKURY), Kurumsal Yönetim İlkeleri'ni uygulayan şirketlerin dahil edildiği endekstir. Bu amaçla, 2012 ve 2013 yıllarında ilk defa BIST kurumsal yönetim endeksine alınan toplam 11 şirketin endekse girme tarihi ile bu tarihten 10 gün önce ve 10 gün sonra oluşan anormal getirileri hesaplanmıştır.
Çalışmada, anormal getiri elde edilip edilmeyeceğini test etmek için hipotezler oluşturulmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, olay tarihten 10 gün önce ve 10 gün sonra oluşan anormal getiriler karışık bir seyir izlemiştir. Bazı günler pozitif anormal getiriler elde edilirken, bazı günler negatif anormal getiriler meydana gelmiştir.
THE RELATION BETWEEN THE CORPORATE GOVERNANCE INDEX AND THE PROFIT OF COMPANIES’ STOCKS: AN APPLICATION IN BIST
Abstract
The aim of the study is to investigate the positive aspects of enrolling Corporate Governance Index. BIST corporate Governance Index (XKURY) is the index in which the companies that apply Corporate Governance Principles are included. For that purpose, the abnormal gainings that accured 10 days before and after the companies enrolling Corporate Governance Index are calculated. Those are totally eleven companies which are accepted firstly to the BIST Corporate Governance Index in 2012 and 2013.
Hypotyzes have been formed for testing whether abnormal gainings are obtained or not. According to the resutls, the abnormal gainings have shown irregular trend 10 days before and after the event. Somedays while positive gainings are observed some other days the opposite is occured.
