TEKNOLOJİK PATENT, FİNANSAL DERİNLEŞME VE SAĞLIK HARCAMALARI ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİNİN SAPTANMASI

Abstract

Bu araştırmada sağlık hizmetleri sektörünün finansmanı ve teknolojik inovasyon alanında yaşanan gelişim arasında bir bağlantı olup olmadığı incelenmiştir. Başka bir ifadeyle değişkenler arasındaki karşılıklı ilişki araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla 83 gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkenin 2002-2018 dönemi, iki aşamalı Sistem-GMM yöntemi uygulanarak analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonuçlarına göre hem sağlık harcamalarının hem de teknolojik inovasyonun birbirleri üzerindeki etkisi pozitif yönlü ve anlamlıdır. Sonuçlar, sağlık harcamalarında yaşanan artışların teknolojik inovasyonu teşvik ettiğini göstermiştir. Aynı zamanda, teknolojik inovasyona yapılan harcamalar sağlık hizmetleri sektörüne yapılan harcamaları arttırmıştır. Araştırmada ayrıca, sağlık hizmetleri sektörüne yapılan harcamaların inovasyon üzerindeki etkisinde finansal derinleşmenin düzenleyici bir etkisi olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. Sonuçlar, söz konusu moderatör etkinin düşük de olsa olduğunu ve de bu etkinin pozitif yönlü olduğunu ortaya çıkarmıştır. Buna göre, finansal gelişim ve derinleşme artıkça, sağlık harcamalarının inovasyon üzerindeki etkisi pozitif yönlü artacaktır.
