The effect of psychological well-being on work engagement in healthcare personnel

Abstract

It is observed that all organizational employees in the service sector are worn out both physically and mentally while performing their jobs. It is known that especially the personnel working in the health sector are constantly intertwined with people due to their jobs. In this context, this study aims to reveal the relationship between the psychological well-being of health and work engagement of health workers. At the same time, the effect of psychological well-being on employees' work engagement has also been the subject of research. 166 of the 190 health workers reached by snowball sampling from the health personnel working in the provinces in the Eastern Black Sea region were included in the study. Research data were obtained through an online-survey. For the analysis of the data, descriptive, correlation and regression analyzes were performed using the SPSS Statistics 22 program. The results suggest that there is a positive moderately significant relationship between psychological well-being of health workers and work engagement, and that psychological well-being of health workers have a positive effect on the work engagement.

Sağlık personellerinde psikolojik iyi oluşun çalışmaya tutkunluk üzerindeki etkisi

Abstract

Hizmet sektöründe yer alan tüm örgüt çalışanlarının hem bedensel hem de zihinsel olarak işlerini ifa ederken yıprandıkları görülmektedir. Özellikle sağlık sektöründe çalışmakta olan personellerin sürekli olarak işleri gereği insanlarla iç içe oldukları bilinmektedir. Bu bağlamda bu çalışma sağlık personellerinin psikolojik iyi oluş halleri ile çalışmaya olan tutkunlukları arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Aynı zamanda psikolojik iyi oluşun personellerin çalışmaya tutkunlukları üzerindeki etkisi de araştırmaya konu olmuştur. Doğu Karadeniz bölgesinde yer alan illerde çalışmakta olan sağlık personellerinden kartopu örneklem yolu ile ulaşılan 190 sağlık çalışanından 166’sı araştırmaya dâhil edilmiştir. Araştırma verileri online-anket yolu ile elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizi için SPSS Statistics 22 programı kullanılarak betimleyici, korelasyon ve regresyon analizleri yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına bakıldığında sağlık personellerinin psikolojik iyi oluş ve çalışmaya tutkunluk arasında pozitif yönlü orta düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişkiye sahip olduğu ve sağlık çalışanlarında psikolojik iyi oluşun çalışmaya tutkunluk üzerinde pozitif yönde etki gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir.
