Abstract
The purpose of the research is to examine the sleep pattern, psychological status and exercise making status of nursing students during the COVID-19 outbreak. The universe of the study, which has been planned as a retrospective and descriptive type, has been consisted of the care plan data collection forms of the 3rd year nursing students who took the Public Health Nursing course in a health sciences faculty of a university (N=155). The study has been completed by examining 126 forms that were filled completely. In the analysis of the data; descriptive statistics, frequency analysis and Chi Square test have been used. The average age of the students is 21.52±1.47 years and 84.1% of them are women. Students have stated that during the COVID-19 process, the routine sleeping-waking hours changed the most (91.3%) and they feared of getting sick and losing family members/friends (96.0%). It has been determined that only 31% of the students did sports or regular physical exercise for half an hour at least 3 days a week. It is statistically significant that female students have more problems with; negative effects on sleep patterns, changes in routine sleeping and waking times, not getting quality sleep, feeling stressed and overreacting to events (p<0.05). It has been determined that during the COVID-19 process students feel stressed, their sleep patterns are badly affected and they do not exercise regularly during the quarantine process at home.
