Aim: This study was conducted to determine the level of online game addiction in the first grade students. Method: The data for this study was collected by using “Data collection form” and “Online Game Addiction Scale for Children” that were created through a literature scan. Overall, 286 children took part in the study. Results: The mean score of the children participating in the study on the computer game addiction scale (MCDS) was 42.26±13.75, which was close to the mean. It was determined that the relationship between the gender, age, family type, daily and weekly playtime variables of the children and the total score of the Online Game Addiction Scale was statistically significant (p<0.05). On the other hand, the relationship between children having their own room, having a computer/tablet, having an internet connection at home, income status of the family and the total score of the Online Game Addiction Scale is statistically insignificant (p>0.05). Conclusion: According to the results of the study, it was observed that the uncontrolled use of online games, which is a risk factor for school-age children, is a risk for addiction. According to the results of the research, it is seen that the uncontrolled use of online games, which is a risk factor for school-age children, is a risk for addiction. Under the guidance of school health nurses, who have an important place in the physical, social and cognitive development of children, school administrations, teachers, students and parents should benefit from programs aimed at preventing game addiction.
