The Journal of the Institute of Social Sciences published its first issue in the spring of 2011 as a nationally recognized journal published twice a year, both spring and autumn. It was established to present the works in all fields of Social and Human Sciences, which are original, unpublished, never sent to any other publication to be presented, such as articles, book reviews, translations, editing and symposium reviews to the science world. It is currently an international journal indexed through the indexes such as Asos, Ebsco, Google Scholar, Tübitak-TR-Index, Sobiad and some others. It is published digitally and in hard copy with the international DOI number and open access policy via DergiPark. Each review sent to our journal is scanned in a plagiarism program called Turnitin. It is essential that the editors, referees and authors comply with the international publication ethical rules and article writing rules.

Authors who submit their works for publication are thought to have transferred their copyrights to Bingöl University Journal of Social Sciences Institute. No fees are charged from the writers. The reviews of the authors cannot be considered official views of the journal. All responsibilities of the works belong to their own authors. If an ethics committee report is required for research products, it should be noted on the analysis that the report has been taken before. Publication and ethical principles are applied in case of detection of any exploitation such as plagiarism, reference manipulation, and incorrect data forgery. Therefore, required procedures are carried out to stop and prohibit publication of the study, or to apply any other processes.

Our journal has earned the title of an international indexed journal published by Turkish, English and Arabic articles since 2016, has an international referee, science and publishing board member, accepted by academic incentive and associate applicants. The articles submitted for publication have been evaluated by being screened in the plagiarism program. While indexed by the Asos and Ebsco databases, the journal was accepted as a TR indexed journal to be published by TÜBİTAK-ULAKBİM for the 11th issue of the first half of the same year. Afterwards, it has been followed by Google Scholar and other directories. As of the twelfth issue, English and Arabic interfaces have been opened beside the Turkish web page. In addition, at the end of each issue, Turkish, English and Arabic writing rules were put. The arrival dates and acceptance dates of the articles were added. Issue-based article deadlines have been announced. In this context, the end of August for the issue of fall; The end of February for the issue of spring was determined.

Starting from the 13th issue of the Spring Semester of 2017, our journal has been published in Turkish and English with open access via DergiPark. It has been accepted by Social Science Citation Index SOBIAD. International APA system has been introduced in the resource presentation. After being accepted into the directory, the fourteenth issue is published for the first time with the ULAKBİM-TR Directory log and the CrossRef international article identification code DOI number. Finally, The Online Computer Library Center, Inc., the international online Computer Library, (OCLC) to WorldCat OCLC: has been registered with the number 759061716. In addition, our journal has been licensed under Creative Commons to protect the rights of magazines and writers in sharing, publishing and publishing articles published in our journal.

From the spring of 2018, the articles have been published with the international author ID number ORCID. The level we reach is of course not the last line, and there are many things that can be done. After that, we will continue our efforts to become a journal which is of better quality and scanned in other international indices. The interest which is shown to our journal has encouraged us in this direction.
