Yönetici Bakış Açısından İşyerinde Romantizm: Bankacılık Sektöründe Görev Yapan Yöneticiler Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Öz

İşyerinde romantizm konusunu ele alan bu çalışmada, bankacılık sektöründe yönetsel pozisyonlarda görev yapan yöneticilerin bakış açısından romantizm ile ilgili görüşler incelenmiştir. Konu itibariyle hassas bir özellik taşıyan işyerinde romantizm, kadın ve erkek açısından daha dengeli bir işgücünün varlığı, işyerinde daha uzun süreler geçirilmesi ve benzer özelliklere sahip bireylerin birlikte çalışmaları nedeniyle, artık çok daha fazla iş yaşamında görülmektedir. Bu kapsamda araştırma, işyerinde romantizm görülme durumunun daha fazla olabileceği düşünülen bankacılık sektöründe yürütülmüştür. Araştırmaya en az şube müdürü ya da üst düzeyinde yönetsel görevleri olan 12 yönetici katılmıştır. Amaçlı örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenen örneklemden nitel araştırma kapsamında yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme metoduyla elde edilen veriler betimsel analiz ile değerlendirilerek yorumlanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda belirlenen işyerinde romantizme yönelik farkındalık, tutum, neden, etki ve politikalar temaları altında yöneticilerin genel olarak işyerinde romantizmi olumlu bir durum algılamakla birlikte önlenmemesi gerektiği ve işyerinde romantizme yönelik departman ya da şube değişikliği dışında herhangi bir politika belirlenmemesi gerektiği yönünde görüşler saptanmıştır.

Workplace Romance From the Perspective of Managers: A Research on Managers Working in Banking Sector

Öz

In this study which discussed the subject of workplace romance, the views on romance from the perspective of managers who are working in managerial positions in banking sector are examined. Workplace romance, which has a sensitive nature in terms of the subject, is now seen much more in business life due to the existence of a more balanced workforce in terms of men and women, the longer hours spent at the workplace and the possibility of working together of individuals with similar characteristics. The research was conducted in the banking sector which is thought to be more likely to experience workplace romance. 12 managers with managerial duties at least at the branch manager level or above participated in the research. The data collected through semi-structured interview method within the scope of qualitative research from the sample determined by the purpose sampling method were evaluated and interpreted with descriptive analysis method. Within the themes of awereness, attitude, cause, effect and policies determined as a result of the research, points of view were identified that although executives generally perceive workplace romance as a positive situation, it should not be prevented and that no policy other than a department or branch change should be applied for workplace romance.
