Undesirable behaviors of children
can harm children's development and family life and can cause serious social
problems. Therefore, it is necessary to plan and monitor the factors that push
juvenile into crime, and to plan both preventive and interfering studies that
involve parents and educators in this matter.

In this study, it is aimed to
examine family belonging and life satisfaction of juveniles pushed to crime. In
this respect, 226 boys convict in Maltepe Children and Youth Closed
Penitentiary Institution, Maltepe No.2 l Type Closed Penitentiary Institution
and Juvenile Correctional Facility located in İstanbul 15-18 age group were
included in the study. For the study, data were obtained by using Personal
Information Form, Family Sense of Belonging Scale and Life Satisfaction Scale.
In the analysis of the data, descriptive analysis, independent samples t test,
one way ANOVA and Pearson's correlation analysis techniques were used.

According to the findings, the
self-esteem, family sense of belonging perceptions of the juvenile included in
the study were at a high level and their perception of life satisfaction was at
a medium level. It was observed that there are significant differences between
family sense of belonging and variables such as the number of siblings, family
co-existence, maternal or paternal residence status, whether or not to escape
from the house and the father's substance use status (p<0.05). There was no
significant difference between family structure and father's alcohol use and
family sense of belonging. In addition, as the life satisfaction of children
increased, family sense of belonging increased or in other words life
satisfaction increased as family sense of belonging increased.
