Abstract

Abstract

Health tourism has emerged as an important field that has been developing rapidly in recent years. It has become popular in the last few years and has started to appeal to a larger audience as a sub-field of tourism. Although there are many reasons for its development, people have turned to this service for specific reasons. Some of these reasons are financial conditions, prolonged access to treatment and sometimes people become health tourists to attain the excellent quality and expertise of the healthcare services they seek. Halal medical tourism service appealing to Muslim health tourists as a subfield of health tourism also participates in this area. Halal medical tourism is the arrangement of a health tourism process based on Islamic values. This study aims to explain halal medical tourism, with all its components, as a sub-field of health tourism. For this purpose, it is to introduce the components of halal service that are necessary for halal medical tourism to be practicable, as well as the services of Muslim-friendly hospitals, which are the prerequisites for making this service available and where Muslim patients can receive service by their religious values when they go abroad.
