Publication Principles

1. Gumushane University Journal of Social Sciences (GUSBID) is published three times a year. GUSBID accepts social sciences and interdisciplinary research articles related to these fields. The language of the studies submitted to the journal should be English or Turkish. At the end of the studies whose publication language is Turkish, there should be an English Extended Abstract with the titles of Aim and Scope, Methods, Findings, and Conclusion.

2. GUSBID33ternational peer-reviewed journal that is indexed and scientifically indexed. Studies sent to the journal can be published with the consent of at least 2 referees and after being reviewed by the Editorial Board. Studies submitted to the journal must not have been published in another journal or submitted for publication. This must be confirmed by signing the undertaking. Submitted articles do not have to be published.

3. Microsoft Office Word program should be used in writing the work. The work to be done must be sent by logging into the DERGİPARK system and filling in all the information about the study completely. For user login, it is absolutely necessary to be a member of the DERGİPARK system. All information about the authors must be filled in completely. Except as otherwise stated in the spelling rules, the main parts of the texts should be written using 11-point Arial Narrow font and should be single line spacing.

4. All responsibility for the studies published in the journal belongs to the author(s). Works accepted for publication cannot be cited without showing the source. Authors are deemed to have accepted this situation when they submit their works.

5. The work must have a (minimum) 120 - (maximum) 180-word summary. In Turkish and English, whichever is the language of the article, the abstract in that language is given first. English and Turkish keywords should be 3-5 words under the abstracts. In addition, in studies related to economics, at least 3 and at most 5 Journal of Economics Literature (JEL, https://www.aeaweb.org/econlit/jelCodes.php) classifications should be specified.

6. When citing in the text and citing references in the bibliography, the criteria specified in APA Version 6.0 (6th Edition) must be followed. Journal writing rules can be accessed from the author's guide.

7. Studies submitted for publication to GUSBID should not exceed 25 pages, including bibliography and appendices. Works longer than 25 pages are rejected at the preflight stage.

8. The studies submitted for publication to GUSBID must comply with the journal publication principles, writing rules, and scientific ethical rules. Works that do not comply with these rules will be rejected at the pre-control stage. The decisions to be taken by the editorial board of the journal are valid for matters not specified in the publication principles and writing rules.

9. In the first versions of the studies uploaded to the system, the author, institution, contact information and, if derived from a specific study, an informative note should definitely be included. This information will be extracted and used in the referee evaluation process. Author identification information should not be included in the files requested from the author during the evaluation phase. If the information requested from the author (Identity information, Institution information, city and country information, ORCID and Contact information, etc.) is missing after the evaluation stage, the publication process of the study is suspended.

10. The referees determined to evaluate the studies submitted to GUSBID for publication are determined from among the faculty members in Turkey or abroad in line with their proximity to the subject and their expertise, and from among specialists with doctorate titles if necessary.

11. The journal uses a double-blind refereeing system. Publication priority is given to those who work as referees in the journal. For each study sent to the journal, two referees with at least doctorate titles are determined in line with their proximity to the subject and their expertise. Determined referees make evaluations without seeing the author(s) of the study.

12. The referees should never include information such as name, title, or the institution they work for while transferring their opinions about the study sent to them to the evaluation form.

13. The referees are given 15 days to evaluate the work. At the end of this period, an additional 10-day period may be given if necessary.

14. The author(s) whose correction request is sent from the referees is given a 15-day period to make the edit and upload it back to the system. The evaluation process of the works that are not uploaded within this period is suspended.

15. After the evaluation, studies that receive a positive opinion from two referees are added to the list of articles to be published for the editorial board's approval. In case of a negative evaluation from a positive referee from one referee, it is sent to a third referee for evaluation. Studies that receive two negative evaluations are rejected and their processes are terminated. The editor is authorized to increase the number of referees if he deems it necessary.

16. Each article published in the journal is assigned a DOI Number and no fee is charged to the authors for this service.

17. No claim can be made if the studies submitted for publication in the journal are rejected as a result of the evaluation process.
