The files sent for publication to the KIU Journal of Psychology  should be prepared as presented below:

Ethics Committee Approval Certificate

For all research based on data collection processes involving animals and/or human participants, such as surveys, tests, scales, observations, interviews, and recording, conducted from the year 2020 onwards, it is mandatory to submit an Ethics Committee Approval Certificate. The researcher(s) commit in this document submitted regarding their studies that they have adhered to all the conditions specified in the Ethics Committee Approval Certificate throughout all stages of their research. In studies that do not require Ethics Committee Approval, this should be declared by the author(s) during the submission of relevant files for the article.

The corresponding author of research submitted to Kahramanmaraş Istiklal University (KIU) Journal of Psychology for publication purposes, which does not require ethical approval, must upload the Declaration of Ethical Approval Form to the journal system on behalf of all authors.

Similarity Report

The similarity rate in similarity reports is accepted up to the upper limit of 25%, excluding references and including quotations. Kahramanmaraş İstiklal University Psychology Journal uses the "intihal.net" program to determine the similarity rate in the studies submitted for publication purposes.

The corresponding authors of the studies must transmit the "Waiving Authorship Rights Form" filled out by the author(s) wishing to waive their authorship rights, to the editor of the article in question, in case there are author(s) who want to waive their authorship rights.

Writing Rules

Manuscripts intended to be published in the KIU Journal of Psychology must meet the following conditions:

Manuscripts to be submitted to the journal must be in Turkish or English.

In manuscripts written in Turkish, English should be abstracted; in manuscripts written in English, Turkish should be abstracted.

Manuscripts should not have been published before and should not be sent to another journal for publication.

Manuscripts that do not comply with the writing rules in the journal are not evaluated.

Only one manuscript of an author is published in the same issue (except for invited and special issues). Even if the author has another manuscript accepted   for publication, it is not possible to publish this manuscript in the same issue; this manuscript is queued for publication in the following issues.

Peer reviewing (double blind reviewing) is essential in the journal.

A similarity report is requested for the manuscripts to be submitted to the journal. The upper limit of the similarity rate in similarity reports is 25%, excluding bibliography and including citations.

The relevant Ethics Committee Report should be uploaded to the system for studies that "require ethics committee permission". This should be declared by the  author(s) in the manuscripts that do not require it. The spelling rules to be followed in the studies to be sent to the journal are determined as follows:

A4 document size should be set vertically and 2.5 cm of space should be left at the edges of the page.

The text section should be between 4000-12000 words, except for Abstract sections, Keywords, and Bibliography pages. The font style should be Times New    Roman, 11 font size, and created as a Microsoft World file.

Subtitles in the main text should be written in lowercase letters, including capital letters, using 11 font size and bold characters.

The first line of the paragraphs should start from 1.25 cm inside and 6nk, then 6nk space should be left between the paragraphs and the paragraphs should be    justified. Other headings (main and sub-headings) in the manuscript should be written without indentation and on both sides.

Turkish Title: The Turkish title of the study should be written IN CAPITAL LETTERS using 12-point bold characters and should be centered.

English Title: English Title, following the Turkish title, should be written IN CAPITAL LETTERS using 12 font size bold characters and should be centered.

Author/Authors: Following the titles, the first letter of the author (capitalized), and the surname (all capitalized), should be written using 12 font size bold            characters. Then, information about the author (title, institution, e-mail address of the author and "ORCID") should be given.

Abstract: Turkish “Abstract” should be written with 1 line spacing using 10-point italic font and should be between 150-400 words.

Keywords: A minimum of three and a maximum of five Turkish keywords reflecting the subjects of the studies should be added. Only the first letters of each  keyword should be capitalized, each keyword should be separated by a semicolon, and all words should be given in italic font.

Abstract: The text written in the "Abstract" section should be given in English italics.

English Keywords: A minimum of three and a maximum of five English keywords reflecting the subjects of the studies should be given in the same order and in  the same sense as the keywords given in Turkish. Only the first letters of each keyword should be capitalized, each keyword should be separated by a  semicolon,  and all words should be given in italic font.

In applied research, the following parts should be included:

Introduction: In the introduction section, summary information about the sections of the study, its equivalent in the scientific literature, the importance of the  research, the research problem and objectives should be clearly stated.

Method: The type, model, questions and hypothesis(s) of the research, research group, data collection techniques, validity and reliability, data analysis,  limitations, ethics committee approval if necessary should be included in the method section.

Findings: The findings obtained in the study should be explained with the relevant tables, figures, graphics or pictures in a way that supports the purpose and  problem of the study and maintains integrity.

Discussion and Conclusion: The results obtained in the light of the research findings should be discussed and suggestions suitable for the results of the study  should be developed. In addition, suggestions should be given for future studies and applications in the field that will contribute to the literature.

Acknowledgement: If it is necessary, acknowledgements can be given as a footnote.

Citing: In all sources to be cited in the in-text and reference list, APA 7 version should be used. All references should be in the same language as the manuscript  was written in. The principles of Turkish citation for the Turkish text and English citation for the English text should be taken into account.

In case of using visual materials such as photographs, diagrams, etc. even if shown as a source, the legal responsibility for permission or copyright issues    belongs to the author(s)of the study.
