Ethics Committee Approval

ULAKBİM TR INDEX Committee requests that Ethics Committee Approval be obtained for research conducted in all branches of science, including social sciences, upon the change it has made in the journal evaluation criteria for the year 2020, and that this approval be specified and documented in the article.

Following this amendment in Article 8 of the TR INDEX Evaluation Criteria, in studies requiring ethics committee approval, the process of which started in 2020, the information about the permission (ethics committee name, date and issue number) in the Ethics Committee Approval should be included in the method section of the article and also in the first/last article of the article. page is mandatory. Accordingly, in the studies that will be sent to our journal from now on, it is necessary to include the information about the ethics committee in the relevant sections and to comply with research and publication ethics;

(1) In all studies conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from the participants by using survey, interview, focus group work, observation, experiment and interview techniques.

(2) In research using humans and animals (including material/data) for experimental or other scientific purposes

(3) In clinical studies on humans

(4) In animal studies

(5) In retrospective studies in accordance with the personal data protection law.

• In case reports to be sent apart from research articles;

(1) Indication of receipt of the informed consent form

(2) obtaining and specifying permission from the owners for the use of scales, questionnaires, photographs belonging to others; and

(3) It should be stated that copyright regulations are complied with for the intellectual and artistic works used.

• Ethics Committee Approval will not be required for review articles.

For the articles that are currently in process in our journal and for which Ethics Committee Approval is available, the responsible authors should add the information regarding the Ethics Committee Approval to their work as stated above, after the evaluation process is completed and it is finalized that they will be published. Apart from this, retrospective ethics committee approval is not required for articles that are in progress before 2020, that were produced from postgraduate/doctoral studies (must be specified in the article), that were submitted to the journal in the previous year, that were accepted but not yet published. However, after the publication of the article is accepted, the responsible author will be placed on the last page of the article titled "... It must be signed by adding a statement. Our non-university researchers are also required to obtain Ethics Committee Approval by applying to the Ethics Committees in their regions for their research that requires ethics committee approval.
