Assoc. Prof. Gül DİKEÇ was born in Erzurum in 1986. He completed primary school in Erzurum and secondary and high school in Manisa. She graduated from Koç University School of Nursing in 2008 with a scholarship. She received her master's (2010) and doctorate (2014) degrees from Istanbul University Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Mental Health and Psychiatry, and her Associate degree (2020) was awarded the title. She worked in the emergency room, neurosurgery intensive care, and psychiatry clinics between 2008-2012 and took an active role as a board member of the Psychiatric Nursing Association between 2014-2016. In 2018, she was awarded the Young Researcher Award from the Psychiatric Nursing Association and the TÜBİTAK-2219 Post-Doctoral Research Scholarship 2018. She did a post-doc at Charite` Universtätmedizin Berlin Institute of Nursing and Health Sciences in 2022. She received training in Psychodrama Basic Stage, Motivational Interview, and Dynamic and Transfer Psychotherapy. Dikeç has numerous national and international articles, book chapters, papers, awards, and citations in treatment compliance, stigma, schizophrenia, and child and adolescent mental health nursing and is a member of the editorial board and referee in national and international journals. Assoc. Prof. Gül Dikec has been working as a faculty member in the English Nursing Program at Fenerbahçe University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing since April 2021 and the Head of the Nursing Department since 2022. She edited a special issue in the journal Frontiers in Psychiatry and was an Editor of Fenerbahçe University Journal of Health Sciences between 2021 and 2024. She is currently a member of the editorial board of BMC Nursing, which is in the Q1 category in the field of Nursing. She received the Alumni Awards Inspiring the Future, Achievement in Healthcare Award from the Koç University Alumni Association in 2023. She is the President of the Psychiatric Nurses Association. She is married and has a child.
