Per Bauhn is Professor of Practical Philosophy at Linnaeus University, Sweden, since 2004. He has his PhD from Lund University (1989) where he was also appointed an associate professor in 1996. He specializes in moral and political philosophy as well as aesthetics, and is a leading expert on the moral theoryy of the American philosopher Alan Gewirth (1912–2004). Per Bauhn has published monographs in English and in Swedish on topics such as nationalism, human rights, the virtue of courage, normative identity, and the relevance of beauty to well-being. He is a regular contributor to the culture and debate pages of leading Swedish newspapers and also participates in programs about philosophy on Swedish national radio.
