Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Ethical Principles and Ethical Rules

Dicle Academy Journal observes the high standards in publication ethics determined by the Editorial Board (COPE) and the International Medical Journal Editors Board (ICMJE).

Publication Code of Ethics
As of 2020, "Ethics Committee Approval" must be obtained for research conducted in all branches of science, including Social Sciences. In studies requiring ethics committee permission, information about the permission (name of the committee, date and number) should be included in the method section of the study and also at the end of the article.

Ethical Rules for Authors

All authors listed in the manuscript must have contributed significantly to the experimental design and implementation, or to the analysis and interpretation of the data. All authors must have been involved in the draft of the manuscript and at any of the revision phases, and must have read and approved the final version. Anyone who has made a major contribution to the writing of the manuscript should be listed as an author (eg "substitution" is prohibited by the Journal). Other people who made less significant contributions to the experiment or to the writing of the article should be included in the acknowledgments section. Any changes made in the writing (including the author's writing order) after the initial version of the manuscript text has been submitted must be approved in writing by all authors.

Authorship and “Umbrella” Groups

Many large-scale collaborations are organized under the name of a representative group of all participants. All manuscripts must have at least one person named as the author. Authors who wish to thank the umbrella group that sourced the data should first list the author(s) of the article and continue it as 'NAME OF THE GROUP'. If necessary, the names of the participants can be listed in the Acknowledgments section.

Originality

Submitting your manuscript to the journal means that it is an original article and an unpublished work and is not being reviewed elsewhere. Plagiarism, in whole or in part, without proper attribution, including reproduction of the author's own work, is not tolerated by the journal. Article texts submitted to the journal are checked for originality using anti-plagiarism software.

Conflicts of Interest

At the point of submission, each author has no direct or indirect financial interest or affiliation in the reported work, results, reflections, or opinions expressed, or related commercial resources or other funding to the respective authors or related departments or organizations, personal relationships, or direct academic competition. It should disclose other circumstances that may raise the question of bias, including its sources. When considering whether you should report a conflict of interest or affiliation, please consider the following conflict of interest test: Are there any post-published edits that you or any of your co-authors have not disclosed that would embarrass you?
If the article is published, the relevant Conflict of Interest information will be disclosed in a statement in a published statement.

Statement of Interest

All authors must clearly disclose their financial and personal relationships with other (biased) individuals or organizations that may improperly influence their work. Examples of potential conflicts of interest include employment, consultancies, stock ownership, fees for service, paid expert testimony, patent applications/registrations, grants or other sources of funding. Authors must disclose any interests in the statement of interest summary in the title page file. If there is no interest to declare, please state it as: 'Interest statements: None'. If the article is accepted, this summary statement will be published in the final.

Application Statement and Confirmation

Submission of an article means that the work in question has not been previously published (except for a summary, a published lecture note or an academic thesis), is not under review for publication elsewhere, its publication has been approved by all authors, as well as implicitly or expressly confirmed by the responsible authorities where it was carried out. means that, if accepted, it will not be published in the same content and format, in English or in any other language, including electronically, without the written consent of the copyright holder. Your article can be checked using the Turnitin program to verify its originality.

The editorial board of the journal has adopted the following rules in terms of plagiarism policy:
• Articles with a similarity rate of more than 20% are rejected without being evaluated, even if they are produced from graduate theses.
• Only articles with a similarity rate of 20% or less are included in the review process.
• The above-mentioned rules are accepted by all authors who upload articles to the Journal.

Inclusive Language Use
Inclusive language means accepting diversity, respecting all people, being sensitive to differences and promoting equal opportunities. Articles should not make any assumptions about the beliefs or duties of any reader, should not contain anything that could imply that one individual is superior to another because of race, gender, culture or any other characteristic, and should consequently use inclusive language. The authors, for example, use the phrase “m/m /each'); In addition, professions and affiliations that do not contain prejudices and stereotypes regarding gender (Eng. 'chairperson' instead of 'chairman', 'flight attendant' instead of 'stewardess') should use expressions such as "scientist" instead of "scientist".

Changes to Authorship

Authors are expected to carefully consider the list and order of authors before submitting their manuscript, and to present the definitive list of authors at the time of the original submission. Adding, removing or rearranging the names of authors in the list of authors should only be made before the article is accepted and only if approved by the Journal Editor. To request such a change, the Editor must have received from the corresponding author: (a) the reason for the change in the list of authors (b) written confirmation (e-mail, letter) from all authors that they agree to be added, renamed or rearranged. In the case of adding or removing authors, this change includes the approval of the added or removed author. Only in exceptional circumstances will the Editor consider adding, removing or rearranging authors after the manuscript has been accepted. The publication process of the article will be suspended while the editor evaluates the request. If the article has already been published online, any request approved by the Editor will result in a print correction.
